After a short hiatus and some behind-the-scenes shuffling, beloved reality TV fashion competition Project Runway is finally back. Season 21 is set to premiere later this summer, with the first episode kicking off on July 31st on Freeform.

Now that the series has a new streaming home, it also has some other major changes that fans can look forward to. On top of Heidi Klum returning to her judging chair after an eight-year gap, the official list of celebrity guest judges has also been announced—and, from the looks of it, it’ll be a season you won’t want to miss.

The Guest Judge Lineup Features Celebs, Fashion Icons, And More

The official list of celebrity guest judges featured in Season 21 was just announced this week, and it’s looking like the most star-studded to date. Among those included aren’t just celebrities, but also reality TV figures, and even some individuals who are instrumental to the fashion world, including supermodels and fellow big-name designers.

Confirmed Guest Judges For Project Runway Season 21

  • Sofía Vergara – Colombian-American actress and producer, best known for her role on Modern Family and her vibrant personality.

  • Michael Kors – Iconic American designer recognized for his chic, luxury sportswear and as a longtime Project Runway judge.

Another Icon Will Be Joining The Judges

The guest judges won’t be the only notable change to this season. Popular stylist to the stars Law Roach will also be on the judging panel, joining veterans Nina Garcia and Heidi Klum to help decide which designers will advance in the competition from week to week. Law is best known for his bold red carpet choices and for dressing A-list celebrities like Zendaya and Celine Dion.

Former competition winner Christian Siriano shared with E! News about how he believed the trio of judges would make for some very interesting designer feedback:

Having Law as a judge is incredible because you’re getting very real fashion in the moment… It’s incredible, Heidi being back makes it so fun and amazing. Her [sic] and Law don’t like the same things, and Nina doesn’t like the same things.

So far, we know that Season 21 will pit 12 hopeful designers against one another, with one elimination each week. Of those, seven designers are former competitors returning for their second chance, and two of them, Jesus and Antonio Estrada, are twins who will have to face off with their sibling.

The latest season of Project Runway officially returns on Thursday, July 31 at 9:00PM on Freeform. Episodes will also stream the day after on both Hulu and Disney+.
