The dream has become concrete. Lukas Podolski (40) wants to win over Germany’s biggest schlager star for his festival project. According to his statement, Helene Fischer (41) is set to perform at the Hockenheimring in 2026 – in front of 200,000 people at his ‘Glรผcksgefรผhle’ Festival.

‘This would be my big wish and dream,’ the former national player admits to the ‘Bild’ newspaper. No wonder: The two already share a special history. In 2014, after the World Cup triumph in Brazil, Fischer stood together with the world champions in front of the Brandenburg Gate. Podolski was right in the middle of it, a memory that remains unforgettable to this day.

‘She would fit perfectly into our festival,’ the former national player is convinced. ‘I’m sure she would like it.’ The stars are aligned for Podolski’s plan. In 2026, when the next ‘Glรผcksgefรผhle’ Festival is scheduled, Fischer will have completed her current tour. An ideal moment for a festival appearance before the mother of two can dedicate herself to her family again.

Lukas Podolski: ‘We Will Invite Helene Fischer’

‘We will invite her,’ Podolski announces. His trump card: ‘Especially the surrounding atmosphere with the many offerings and the special ambiance could be exactly right for her.’ Indeed, ‘Glรผcksgefรผhle’ offers more than just music. Camping areas, diverse gastronomy, relaxation zones – a complete package that goes far beyond a normal concert.

What began as an experiment has long since become one of the country’s most significant music events. The ‘Glรผcksgefรผhle’ Festival, which Podolski launched with manager Markus Krampe, now attracts around 200,000 people to Baden-Wรผrttemberg. From September 11 to 14, 2025, the Hockenheimring will once again transform into a gigantic party mile. ‘I am very proud of what we have built there with a lot of hard work,’ Podolski explains his motivation, ‘a festival that offers something for everyone.’

Lukas Podolski Looking Forward to Apache 207

Until Fischer’s possible premiere, Podolski is looking forward to rapper Apache 207 (27). ‘Also a soccer player. A cool guy with cool music,’ he raves about the musician who once played soccer himself. The former world champion will once again personally walk around the grounds. ‘Even though I obviously can’t take 200,000 selfies,’ he jokes. ‘But I promise everyone a great time.’
