Helene Fischer sings with Otto Waalkes: Baby Shark, doo-doo, doo-doo
Helene Fischer (41) and Otto Waalkes (77) have released a joint song with accompanying music video. The queen of German pop and the German comedy icon sing together an interpretation of the children’s song “Baby Shark”. While Fischer plays the “mom” in the colorful clip, Otto appears in several roles – including as baby and grandma.
“Baby Shark” is simultaneously the first single release from a new Helene album. On September 12, “Dancing & Celebrating”, the second record from Fischer’s album series “The Most Beautiful Children’s Songs” will be released. According to Universal Music, it will contain 25 songs. The album is being promoted as “the perfect soundtrack for joyful occasions and lively parties”.
“She is the Beauty and I am the Other”
“The shark not only has teeth but also massive image problems, especially since Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jaws’ it has been considered life-threatening”, Waalkes is quoted by Universal. “Even sharks started small”, the song proves. Joking about the collaboration, Waalkes says that between the two of them, “the role distribution is very clear”: “She is the beauty and I am the other – and in this case, I could hardly take on the mother role, but I got to play all the other roles instead.”
In a recent story on her Instagram account, Fischer greets her followers from the music video shoot. She expresses her excitement about the “second great album. Our journey continues. I got to sing so many beautiful children’s songs and this time Otto is even joining in.”
“The Most Beautiful Children’s Songs (Dancing & Celebrating)” can already be pre-ordered. The album will be available in different formats from September 12.
