Despite the new fashion rules that were announced by the Cannes Film Festival organizers yesterday, Heidi Klum didn’t mind being a rule breaker. The supermodel walked the red carpet in a stunning pink Elie Saab couture flower gown that featured a lengthy train, which seems to be in violation of the new rules in this year’s updated charter.

In the charter, which has guidelines and other useful information for navigating the film festival, the organizers wrote, “For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival.” They added, “Voluminous outfits, in particular those with a large train, that hinder the proper flow of traffic of guests and complicate seating in the theater are not permitted. The festival welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit red carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules.”

Klum risked a dress code violation by wearing her thigh-bearing voluminous floor-length gown, but the risk is definitely worth it for this dazzling ensemble.

Klum’s gown definitely skews tame compared to some of the red carpet dresses from previous years. Just last year. Bella Hadid donned a nipple-baring nude dress on the red carpet last year as the trend for naked dresses continue. This year, the model switched things up in a simple sideboob-baring little black dress.
