Heidi Klum (51) is back in front of the cameras of ‘Project Runway’ for several weeks now. After an eight-year break, the German top model will host the 21st season of the successful designer casting show on US television starting in July. ‘It really felt like coming home,’ the 51-year-old now revealed to ‘People’ magazine.

Klum had already hosted the show from 2004 to 2017 and was even nominated for an Emmy nine times during this period. In 2013, she won the coveted award together with her then co-host Tim Gunn (71). After her departure, Karlie Kloss (32) and later Christian Siriano (39) took over as hosts.

Comeback without difficulties

Despite the long break, Klum feels perfectly prepared for her return. ‘I can do the show with my eyes closed, even when judging clothes,’ she joked in ‘People’ magazine. ‘I just love fashion so much, and I think it’s great how interested the designers are and how eager they are to get a place in the fashion industry.’

The passion for fashion remains unbroken for the mother of four. ‘It’s so much fun to give them a platform where they can show what they’re capable of,’ Klum explained. At the American Music Awards a few days ago, Klum already showed what fashion direction she wants for the new season. Wearing a black dress with a voluminous train on the red carpet, she announced: ‘We definitely need longer trains and dresses. I go everywhere with a train.’

Star-studded cast for the new season

For the 21st season of ‘Project Runway’, Klum won’t be alone in front of the camera. Nina Garcia (60), Michael Kors (65), Law Roach (46), and Christian Siriano will be by her side to judge the designs of the upcoming talents.

The ten episodes of the new season will air weekly and will be available on Freeform, Disney+ and Hulu starting July 31.
