Guests could be forgiven for thinking the ale had gone to their heads on Saturday after spotting supermodel Heidi Klum downing pints of lager at Munich’s 190th annual Oktoberfest.

The German supermodel was accompanied by husband Tom Kaulitz as the raucous two week event got underway on the Bavarian city’s sprawling Theresienwiese.

Featuring an array of fairground rides, food stalls and attractions, the annual celebration – originally launched in 1810 to honour the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen – typically attracts more than seven million visitors a year.

And Klum ensured she was among them after returning to her home country from the United States, where she resides with German musician Kaulitz and her children, in order to attend the event.

Dressed in a variation on the traditional Bavarian dirndl, the model, 52, was seen downing large stein’s of frothy German beer after calling into local festival hall Käfer-Wiesn-Schänke.

Accompanying his wife, Kaulitz –  lead guitarist with rock group Tokio Hotel – wore a waistcoat and traditional lederhosen above knee-length socks as they let their hair down with a group of friends.

Elsewhere, German model Anna Ermakova – the daughter of retired tennis legend Boris Becker – made an appearance alongside her mother, Angela, 57.

Anna, 25, who bears a striking resemblance to her father, caught the eye in an elegant blue silk dress with a sleeveless detail and cinched waistline as she made her way into the crowded venue.

Her mother, who famously fell pregnant with Anna after a notorious romp with Becker in a broom cupboard at the Mayfair branch of Japanese restaurant chain Nobu, looked equally stylish in a deep red version of the same look.

Meanwhile Becker’s ex-wife Lilly stood out in an embellished ivory dress while posing for photos at the annual event.

The model, 49, was seen drawing beer from a large cask as guests dressed in traditional costume looked on.

The plus-sized model paired the top with a mid-length layered skirt, filled with multiple chiffon layers.

She rounded off her look with a magnificent headpiece featuring multiple red flowers.

Hayley accessorised the outfit with a matching red leather handbag, black tights and pointed toe boots.

The ensemble was completed with dark smoky eye make up and her long blonde locks styled with a gentle wave.

Many photos were captured as she beamed for the cameras ahead of the open day parade.

One of the photos saw Hayley looking absolutely mesmerised and happy to be standing near some horses, kitted out in traditional dress.

Oktoberfest is a two week long festival that started on Saturday 20 September with lively folk music and a range of attractions.

The glamorous model kept her followers updated by frequently posting on her socials, including a snip from Saturday night where she left the hotel for a wonder and an adventure.

On Sunday morning Hayley shared on her socials that she was leaving Munich and was heading for London Heathrow.

Earlier in the week, Hayley had attended HeidiFest hosted by Heidi Klum on Thursday ahead of the opening of Oktoberfest.

For the event, sponsored by Lindt, Hayley donned a black corset style dress with long lace sleeves, whilst her hair was styled in tight spiral curls.

Host Heidi wore a red dress that featured a low neckline and a puff sleeve blouse layered underneath.

It nipped in at the waist with a tie before falling into a full skirt, with Heidi completing her outfit with a pair of red heels and dainty socks.

The Munich Oktoberfest will run until October 5.
