It’s been clear since August: ‘Die Helene Fischer Show’ will not air during Christmas 2025, as the singer will be on maternity leave after the birth of her second child. Now ZDF has announced the replacement program: On December 25th during prime time, instead of the three-hour gala, the 90-minute TV movie ‘Weihnachten im Olymp’ will premiere at 8:15 PM.

This is what ‘Weihnachten im Olymp’ is about

Mariele Millowitsch (69) plays the lead role in this romantic comedy. She portrays the director of the luxury department store Olymp. On Christmas Eve, she wanders through the empty halls of her shopping temple. Her thoughts drift back to that magical Christmas night 40 years ago when she and her great love Hans (Joachim Król, 68) locked themselves in the department store.

The couple then lost sight of each other under tragic circumstances. But now they meet again by chance. However, they’re not the only ones who end up stuck in the department store on Christmas.

Those who don’t want to wait until December 25th can watch ‘Weihnachten im Olymp’ on the ZDF media library starting November 15th.

‘Die Helene Fischer Show’: (Almost) every year since 2011

In 2011, Helene Fischer (41) first invited fellow artists to her eponymous show. After the first two years on Das Erste, ZDF has been clearing its prime-time slot on Christmas Day for her since 2013.

After a best-of show aired in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show was canceled for the next two years. The superstar finally returned to Christmas television in 2023.
