“Germany’s next Topmodel” chief Heidi Klum (52) was awarded the “Blue Panther – TV & Streaming Award” in 2024. Now the Tokio Hotel twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz (35) could also take home an award this year.

Reality Stars Compete for Blue Panther

According to a press release, the jury has already selected 13 award recipients for the Blue Panther, the former Bavarian Television Award. However, these are to remain secret for now. For the award concerning Klum’s husband Tom and his brother Bill, the jury has only limited influence: The Kaulitz twins are nominated in the category “Most Popular Reality Series” – for the first season of their Netflix format “Kaulitz & Kaulitz”. Here, the audience decides.

The competition for the audience award is strong. The Kaulitz brothers are up against two other celebrity formats – the third season of “Bushido & Anna-Maria – Alles auf Familie” with rapper Bushido (46) and wife Anna-Maria Ferchichi (43), as well as the fourth season of “Diese Ochsenknechts”. On the Blue Panther website, the public can vote starting now – until August 31.

In the jury’s reasoning for the nomination, it states that the Kaulitz series is “more than just reality TV – it’s a pop-cultural phenomenon that convinces with wit, charm, and depth”. The Bushido format, on the other hand, “blurs the lines between celebrity documentary and social reportage”. The Ochsenknechts show that even in pop culture, “family can be uncomfortable, messy, and human”.

Heidi Klum Made “a Statement”

Last October, Klum was honored in the Entertainment category as host and moderator for the 19th season of “Germany’s next Topmodel”. The reasoning stated that she “sets a strong example for diversity and tolerance with this show and fulfills a role model function in entertainment TV”.

The Blue Panther will be awarded this year on October 22 in Munich. Before that, the audience will decide on another award: voting in the Social Media category will take place from October 8 to 22 – more details are yet to come.

Back in June, Markus Sรถder (58) surprised the departing Munich “Tatort” duo Miroslav Nemec (71) and Udo Wachtveitl (66) on the set of their last case with the Bavarian Minister President’s Honorary Award. “As ‘Batic’ and ‘Leitmayr’, they are an integral part of Sunday evening for millions of crime show fans”, said Sรถder.
