Supermodel Heidi Klum has been in the public eye since the 1990s – and has remained in incredible shape throughout the entirety of her career.

The 52-year-old model, who had her legs insured for $2.2 million in 2004, has often spoken about her rigorous fitness and diet regimes – as well as how she maintains her youthful looks.

Earlier this week, Klum, who spoke with People about her return to Project Runway, shared her thoughts over plastic surgery and injectables.

The supermodel said she is ‘all for’ Botox – but didn’t admit to having any cosmetic surgery done herself.

‘Whoever wants to talk about [plastic surgery] and wants to share, give me all the numbers,’ the former Victoria’s Secret Angel quipped.

‘The biggest misconception [about] being in your 50s is that you are off the shelf. You’re not off the shelf,’ Klum exclaimed.

‘We are very much on that shelf for everyone to see. Don’t hide in your 50s,’ the mom-of-four urged.

‘Beauty is ever-changing, and I’m here for the change. If it’s always the same, life is boring,’ she noted.

Elsewhere in the interview, as she addressed criticism surrounding her joint lingerie campaigns with daughter Leni Klum, she discussed her own body confidence.

‘A lot of people are like, “Oh, I don’t know about mom and daughter doing this together,”‘ Klum said. ‘But for us? I’m proud of my daughter. She’s fine with me like that.’

The Project Runway host made it clear that body confidence runs in the family, noting that she’s always been comfortable in her own skin.

‘I’ve always been very open with my body,’ she added.

‘When I’m suntanning in the backyard, I might not have a top on. I’m European… my kids don’t know me any other way.’

Heidi Klum follows a balanced diet

In 2023, the model sparked an uproar after saying she consumes only 900 calories a day, as she shared her weight and how she keeps her trim figure.

She credited her physique to a low-fat breakfast of three poached eggs in a warm chicken broth, and told her followers her calorie count.

After being asked by a fan to share her weight, Klum took to Instagram as she brushed down a pair of scales, joking: ‘It must have gotten completely dusty.’

Stepping on, she waited to see what it would show, revealing she weighed 138 pounds.

The Sports Illustrated cover model later clarified she follows a ‘disciplined’ diet despite struggling with food in the past, telling Red Magazine: ‘In the beginning, I had to [be disciplined about food] and now I’m just so used to it.

‘There are so many choices, just pick the right things. Because then you don’t have the struggle.’

Klum’s nutritionist, Oz Garcia, has previously spoken to Women’s Health, giving insight into what the model eats in a day.

She says Klum usually starts her day with an egg based breakfast, consisting of ‘three organic scrambled egg whites with spinach, green peppers, spring onions and parsley.’

She added the model will usually add a small bowl of fresh fruit and tea without milk.

For lunch, the blonde beauty enjoys turkey with basmati rice or quinoa with stir-fried vegetables.

As for dinner, she tends to opt for salmon with lemon and garlic as well as a mixed green salad with broccoli florets and cucumber with some olive oil.

The model also loves an occasional indulgence, and will treat herself with a dessert such as fruit with yogurt or dark chocolate.

Klum previously admitted she doesn’t ‘really exercise’ that much, occasionally showing Instagram pictures of herself practicing yoga.

‘I don’t think you have to do a lot, but if you do a little bit [regularly], I think that’s important,’ she added.

‘I go running, jump on the trampoline in the garden at my home in LA and do body-weight exercises – including lots of squats. I get plenty of movement from running around after four children, two dogs and a cat.

‘I’ve relished the opportunity to spend more time at home with my family in recent months. Being on a plane and in the studio a lot less means I’ve been able to enjoy getting stuck into domestic tasks.

Heidi Klum has a simple beauty routine

When it comes to skin and body care, Klum prefers to keep it simple.

She says she doesn’t tend to wear much make-up, air-dries her hair and, per Us magazine, loves using coconut oil to moisturize her hair and body.

The model has also spoken about the importance of drinking water, saying she notices a lack of elasticity in her skin when she doesn’t.

The blonde beauty revealed the one skincare step she never skips – taking her makeup off.

‘I always want to make sure that it’s off so that the pores can breathe in the night,’ she explained. ‘But other than that, I think food. Food and exercise and moving — overall is good for you.’
