It’s the moment fashion enthusiasts worldwide have been waiting for: Heidi Klum (52) enters the famous workroom in the first trailer for season 21 of “Project Runway”. “Now that’s what I call an entrance”, mentor Christian Siriano (39) comments, while the designer contestants scream and cheer with excitement.

The German supermodel had left the show after the 2017 season to produce her Amazon series “Making the Cut” together with longtime mentor Tim Gunn. Now she’s working directly with the fashion designer for the first time since Siriano’s victory in season four in 2007.

Despite the long break, Klum feels well-prepared for her return. “I can do the show with my eyes closed, even when judging clothes”, she joked a while ago in an interview with “People” magazine. “I just love fashion so much, and I think it’s great how interested the designers are and how eager they are to get a place in the fashion industry.” Indeed, in the clip for season 21, it seems as if professional Klum had never been away.

Star-Studded Judging Panel

Alongside returning guest judge Nina Garcia, newcomer Law Roach completes the judging panel and promises fresh dynamics. The trailer already shows initial tensions – both between the designers and with the judges themselves.

For season 21, the producers have also secured a high-profile list of guest judges. Among others, SofΓ­a Vergara, Tyra Banks, Joan Smalls, Nikki Glaser, Sara Foster, and Zac Posen will be evaluating the designers.

New Network, Proven Format

For the first time, “Project Runway” will be broadcast on Freeform – another change in the show’s eventful history. After starting on Bravo in 2004, moving to Lifetime, and returning to the NBCUniversal network with season 17, the series is now under Disney’s aegis. The episodes will also be available on Hulu and Disney+ after their TV premiere.

Season 21 of “Project Runway” premieres on July 31 and promises exciting fashion moments with Klum’s return and the new jury constellation.
