Boris Becker has revealed he was ID’d and denied alcohol at the age of 51 during a recent trip to a supermarket in New York.
The former world No. 1 professional tennis player took to his social media platforms on Monday to share his shocking story with his fans, and admitted although he was refused his purchase, he took her evaluation as a ‘compliment’.
Earlier in the day, the sportsman – who is in the final stages of divorce from ex-wife Lilly – expressed his delight as he posted a reflective message where he insisted he feels ‘amazing’ in his life.

On his encounter at the supermarket in the Big Apple, the German hunk detailed: ‘Guys, I went into supermarket yesterday and wanted to buy couple of beers…
‘Woman at the counter asked me for ID…told her my age ( 51) ,she said I look younger and refused me the purchase since I had no ID…take that as a compliment #NYC.’
Boris – who was declared bankrupt two years ago – revealed he’s currently in a much better place in his life in a recent Instagram message.
Alongside the caption: ‘#word on Sunday’, he wrote: ‘My career’s coming together. My purpose is becoming clearer & clearer. My circle’s beautiful. My life is thriving.

Meanwhile, reports claim that the athlete is in the ‘final stages’ of divorcing his former wife Lilly after the couple announced their split last year.
In December, she reflected on the past year after parting ways from her husband of nine years during an interview with Günther Jauch on Germany’s RTL.
The brunette admitted the couple will never rekindle their relationship, insisting: ‘It’s really over between us.’
Dutch beauty Lilly, 43, bluntly said: ‘2018 was the worst time of my 42 years. He so grossly disappointed me.’

Speaking on the negative effects of being in the limelight, she went on: ‘What makes it so bad is that everything is happening in public now. But I married a public man, maybe it’s part of it.’
‘Unfortunately, [a reunion wouldn’t] not work anymore. Too much has happened. I do not want to, he does not, and that’s fine. It’s really over between us.’
Lilly added that the pair’s priority is their son: ‘The most important thing is that the future of Amadeus is well arranged. It’s not about Boris or me.
‘It concerns the joint custody. He can see his son whenever he wants. Amadeus loves his father, and he loves him’, she went on.
Boris and Lilly, who were married for nine years, confirmed their breakup via a German lawyer last year, in a statement given to Bild newspaper.
Lawyer Christian-Oliver Moser said: ‘The decision after a 13-year-long relationship and nine years of marriage wasn’t an easy one.’
